Oregon Health Insurance Plans For Children

Finding Health Plans for children only used to be a difficult task. Many companies have recognized this need. There are now a number of options to view for Individual Children's Health Plans. You can use our eQuote System and specify that you want plans for children. You can only quote one child at a time...

Currently Regence, ODS and PacificSource have only one rate for 0 to 17 year olds. These three companies are available statewide. While HealthNet and Kaiser have two rate classes.  Regence offers youth rates for 0 to 17 year olds on their Basic, Plus and Premier plans.  If your child is over three years of age and you live in the Willamette Valley, HealthNet, Kaiser and PacifiCare will be worth a look. These plans are not available outside of the Willamette Valley, and Kaiser is limited to Salem and north.

There are HMO plans.

They are managed care. You have a primary care physician who is responsible for your needs. You have a co-payment for your office call. If there is a medical need, which he cannot treat you for, he will have to refer you to a specialist to treat you. You must get a referral to see a physician other than your primary care Doctor.

There are PPO plans

These are Preferred Provider Plans, where you select your Doctor, Hospital, Pharmacy etc... from a list, and the plan will pay the qualified expenses. Some of these plans recognize "Alternative Practitioners of the Healing Arts". These plans offer Doctors Office co-payments and Prescription co-payments, which are available before the deductible. This type of plan normally has a deductible, which must be met prior to having major services paid by a company. These plans also have some type of accident benefit for the injuries that occur.

If you have a newborn please contact us. Some plans have four our six week waiting periods. We also have some John Alden Short Term Medical options that can be made available for "next day" coverage.

HMO Plans:
Kaiser Permanente for Individuals and Families (Limited Service Area)
HealthNet Pearl 25 (Limited Service Area)

PPO Plans:
